Cysteine is a remarkable health building sulfur containing amino acid (building block of protein) which supports anabolic activity (building up of the body). Cysteine helps the body build new healthy cells to replace old unhealthy cells.

Cysteine also plays a role in proper liver functioning. It is needed for the liver in order to produce the free radical fighter glutathione and to help maintain it at adequate levels in the cells.

N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) is a more stable form of cysteine and has been shown to be more effective at boosting glutathione levels than cysteine.
